1. Kolkata

In October, the entire city of Kolkata eagerly awaits the 10-day Durga Pujo! You can practically feel the air being filled with camphor and hear people praising the goddess as you make your way through the narrow alleys of the twisting bylanes. Yet, there is a lot more to explore in the city. Kolkata is filled with monuments and architecture with historical significance.Trams and pulled rickshaws are still available on city streets, so explore the city and see them for yourself.

2. Hampi

3. Wayanad

One of the best locations to travel to in South India in October is Wayanad. Wayanad district, one of the many colours that Kerela flaunts, inherits the charisma of the lovely Kozhikode and Kannur. It  is tucked away in the Western Ghats mountains, home to various tea estates.

4. Guwahati

The ideal time to travel to Assam is in October. With a minimum temperature that only reaches five degrees Celsius, the weather is often nice. The Kangali bihu is observed between September and October. Participating in the Bihu celebrations is an experience that should not be missed.

5. Shillong

6. Mysore

7. Jaipur

8. Leh
