Asia Cup 2016: After top-order's failure, Ahmad Shahzad to be included in Pakistan's World T20 squad?

Mirpur: When Pakistan announced their Asia Cup, ICC World Twenty20 squads, one exclusion which was discussed a lot was that of Ahmed Shehzad.

The selectors instead went for Khurram Manzoor and Sharjeel Khan. But the decision to drop Shehzad backfired as the Shahid Afridi-led side struggled for a good start throughout Asia Cup 2016.

But according to a report in The Express Tribune, Shehzad is all set to be included in Pakistan's squad in place of Manzoor.

“Ahmed has been asked to submit his passport for the World T20,” a PCB official confirmed while talking to The Express Tribune. “His inclusion in the World T20 side will be made official soon.”

The right-hander, who has often been criticised for not living up to his potential, had a good outing in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) where he was pretty consistent for the Quetta Gladiators.

Shehzad has played 40 T20Is for Pakistan and is just 59-run short of completing 1000 runs in the format.
