New Delhi: Soon after the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced the squad for upcoming triangular series also featuring Australia and South Africa, several West Indian players lashed out at the board.
Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy questioned the board's decision to include Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine in the squad, considering these two have not played the 50-over format for quite some time.
While Gayle, Bravo and Sammy did not play the Nagico Super50 in January because they were playing the Big Bash League in Australia, Pollard missed out on the tournament due to injury, while Narine was still working on remodelling his action at that time.
In a series of tweets, Gayle, Sammy and Bravo expressed their resentment over the selection criteria.
