Steve Waugh: Read his response to Shane Warne 'most selfish cricketer' remark

New Delhi: A day after he was called 'the most selfish cricketer' by former fellow team-mate Shane Warne, Steve Waugh has refused to respond to the scathing remarks made by the maverick spinner.

In a short statement on Wednesday, Waugh responded: "I'm not justifying his comments with an answer."

17 years after the leggie was dropped for the final Test of the series - which the Aussies went on to win to retain the Frank Worrell Trophy – Warne still holds grudges against his former skipper.

"There's a lot of reasons I don't like Steve Waugh ... (one of them) because he's the most selfish cricketer I've played with," Warne said on Network Ten reality show 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.
