Wayne Rooney asked me who Anthony Martial was: Morgan Schneiderlin

New Delhi: Like majority of Manchester United fans, club skipper Wayne Rooney on Tuesday unaware of his side's latest transfer target - Anthony Martial.

This amusing bit of news was confirmed by Rooney's teammate Morgan Schneiderlin.

"On the plane, Wayne Rooney came to speak to me and asked me who Martial was, because the English press had started to speak.

"I told him he's a great player with great potential, who has played some good matches with Monaco last season and the the beginning of this. I told him he is technical and powerful. A little like Therry Henry, even if it's the press who are making that comparison," the midfielder was quoted as saying by Manchester Evening News.

The 19-year-old striker is on way to Old Trafford as part of a £36.3m deal from Monaco.
