Karnataka’s R Vinay Kumar was the sole debutant inducted into the 15-member squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies.
Sticking to the players who the BCCI had named in the list of 30 probables that had been sent to the ICC earlier, the selectors finally decided to axe struggling Ishant Sharma in favour of Vinay Kumar.
The five wise men also decided to invest in time-tested experience players for the World Cup, ignoring the current form of youngsters like Manish Pandey and Saurabh Tiwary.
Though chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth said that they have picked the best team, but we at Zeecric feel that the selectors could have shown little more courage and selected one or two in-form rookies in the team, like they did before 2007 T20 World Cup that India won.
Let us know what you feel about the Indian team that was selected for T20 World Cup. Is it the best possible team? Does this team have the ability of winning the World Cup again for India?
