Lady Gaga smokes marijuana live on stage

Amsterdam: Singer Lady Gaga puffed on a large joint of marijuana during a live gig here, telling fans about the "medical wonders" of the drug.

The US pop star was performing in Amsterdam, where smoking marijuana has effectively been decriminalised. She told the audience she was in the "appropriate place" to discuss her passion for the drug, reports thesun.co.uk. "I want you to know it has totally changed my life and I`ve really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music," said Gaga. The 26-year-old, who kept changing outfits during her concert, also quipped she was going to talk to US President Barack Obama in a bid to make marijuana legal worldwide. The "Poker face" singer said the drug`s leaf symbol is the "new peace sign". "It`s like saying everybody needs to take a breath and it`s going to be okay," she added. IANS
