Varun Dhawan in Zoya Akhtar’s 'Gully Boy'? Here's the truth

New Delhi: Not many days back, social media was abuzz with the reports of Bollywood filmmaker Zoya Akhtar approaching actor Varun Dhawan for her upcoming movie 'Gully Boy'. But, apparently, all such talks lacked substance.

Recently, the 29-year-old star denied being approached for 'Gully Boy'. “That’s not true at all. I am not doing that film,” an Indian Express report quoted him as saying.

Well, that pretty much clears the air.

Earlier, Ranveer Singh was rumoured to be a part of this film. However, he turned down the role due to date issues, reports suggest.

On the professional front, Varun is currently working on Alia Bhatt starrer 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. The Shashank Khaitan directorial is slated to release on March 10 next year. 

The film is touted as a romantic comedy.
