Robbie Savage slammed for risque moves in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

BBC has received numerous complaints against ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Robbie Savage’s “inappropriate” moves on the show.

London: The BBC has received numerous complaints against ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Robbie Savage’s “inappropriate” moves on the show.
The 37-year-old footballer did a series of hip thrusts during his routine before leaping on to the judges’ desk and performing the risque moves in front of Craig Revel Horwood.
Parents of many children viewing the show have claimed that the dance, carried out to the Michael Jackson song ‘Bad’ and broadcast well before the 9pm watershed, was not suitable for family audience. “We thought that the use of “hip thrusts” by Robbie Savage during his performance tonight was particularly vulgar, deplorable and completely unnecessary,” the BBC quoted an online message as saying. “They were particularly suggestive especially to the younger audience and the action in front of Craig was very much out of order,” the message said. The BBC has also confirmed that it has received 267 complaints from a peak audience of 11.5 million regarding the contestant’s paso doble, but also defended the moves, saying that the footballer was simply paying tribute to the dancing of Michael Jackson. “Robbie danced a paso doble to Michael Jackson’s Bad. The choreography emulated some of Michael’s famous dance moves and no offence was intended,” the BBC said. ANI
