New Delhi: Delhi-based designer Ritesh Kumar is participating in the ongoing Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 where he is showcasing his collection titled `Cinderelloid` and describes it as a "new avatar of craftsmanship".
The Milan Fashion Week started Sep 21 and will conclude Tuesday.
"I have a stall or better call it static presentation in a showroom participating in Milan Fashion Week. My collection portrays new avatar of craftsmanship generating innovative association of materials and techniques," Kumar told reporters. Kumar says his work is usually underlined by out of the box thinking, use of unconventional materials and methods as it helps him in having innovative ideas for this collection and that he did something similar while working on his clothes for the Milan Fashion Week. "Silhouettes can be best described as loose, easy shapes which float around the body. They are combined with softly tailored linear structures for interesting hybrid looks. Also there is lot of 3D textures used on the garments. "Oxblood red, royal blue and deeper tones of pink interspersed with ivory, steel and lilac forms the colour palette. Embossed silk, gauze, tulle and translucent fabrics with high twist yarns and softly elasticised textures on pure, lightweight silks are some of the fabrics to watch out for," Kumar said. The designer targets luxury boutique through this collection and is looking forward to good business. "I have targeted the luxury boutiques and buyers based out of Europe and Middle East and hopeful to get some outstanding business as the response till now has been amazing," he said. IANS
