Rail tickets to have bar code; no ID proof needed

New Delhi: The Indian Railways may soon come up with rail tickets having a bar code which will free the passengers from the hassle of carrying ID proofs.

The passengers won't have to show their ID proofs along with the tickets as the tickets will be examined by machines.

On examining, the machine will send the details of the ticket to the central server. In case of any discrepancy, the details of fine and punishment will get registered on the central server.

This system will also keep a check on ticket collectors who divulge into mal-practices and bribery. Bar code tickets will ease out the whole process for railway travellers and will also save time.
