I could have ended up like Winehouse, says Leona Lewis

London: British singer Leona Lewis has admitted that it would have been easy for her to have been like Amy Winehouse, had she not learnt how to get tough.

The singer, who won `The X Factor` in 2006, revealed that she had to learn how to be tough while growing up in east London because of the things she was exposed to. Like Winehouse, the 27-year-old singer also studied in BRIT school. “It would probably have been very easy for me to have been like Amy,” the Daily Mail quoted her as telling Fabulous magazine. She also said that she would not allow herself to get in the grip of drinks or drugs addiction, and explained that she can “handle herself as she is “streetwise.” “I’m a Hackney girl. I can handle myself. If I was in a club and someone pulled a gun, I would stay calm because it’s not out of my world. “I grew up having to be streetwise, having to know how to handle myself,” she added. ANI
