Srinagar: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah fondly paid his tribute to Bollywood producer-director Yash Raj Chopra, days after he died in Mumbai, by saying his name and creations would be etched in gold.
Abdullah, who hails from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, termed Chopra an ambassador of the pristine and scenically enchanting region.
Reminiscing about his friendship with the ‘King of Celluloid Romance’, he said: “He was our ambassador, as he promoted the state of Jammu and Kashmir through his films, and may God guide other filmmakers to follow his lead.” “I am extremely saddened by his demise. May God give strength to his family and friends to bear such a huge loss, and may people never forget him since his contribution to the Hindi movie industry was exemplary,” he added. ANI
