Bobby Brown pleads not guilty to DUI charges

Los Angeles: Singer Bobby Brown pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor charges related to driving under the influence (DUI).

Brown, 43, formerly married to the late pop diva Whitney Houston, was pulled over March 26 in Reseda after he was spotted talking on his cellphone, Los Angeles Times reported. After taking a field sobriety test, he was arrested and charged. He faces charges of driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 per cent and driving with a suspended license, according to prosecutors. "Brown did not personally appear in the Van Nuys court and his plea was entered by his attorney," City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said. Brown has had numerous run-ins with the law including a 1996 drunk driving incident in Florida. Much of the couple`s (him amd Houston) marital turmoil and legal woes played out in public, including in a 2005 reality show called `Being Bobby Brown`. PTI
