Kelly Clarkson performs new controversial single

London: American pop singer Kelly Clarkson has had to bow down to her record bosses, and to perform her new single, which she had dubbed as a “rip off” of Beyonce’s hit ‘Halo’ at a free show in New York.Clarkson, 27, who claims that songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder sent her the ballad ‘Already Gone’ without telling her he had already offered it to Beyonce, performed the single on July 31, reports the Daily Express.

Sony Music executives ignored Clarkson’s pleas not to release the track because it sounded too much like Beyonce’s Halo - prompting her to publicly criticise Tedder and her bosses at the label. But she has consented to promote the tune, which she performed at a free concert on US TV show Good Morning America, drawing thousands of fans to New York City’s Central Park. ANI
