Demi Moore`s philanthropic New Year

Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Demi Moore has shown her generous side this holiday season after she reportedly donated USD 100,000 to a California shelter that was burned down in a devastating fire earlier this month.The Southwest Community Centre in Santa Ana helped poor children and needy seniors until it was destroyed on 15 December after a suspected electrical fault.

After learning about the tragedy, the `Ghost` star decided to write a cheque to the centre, to help replace crates of food and gifts that were lost in the unfortunate blaze, Star magazine reported. "Demi whipped out her chequebook right away," a source said. However, the 47-year-old actress is not the only Hollywood celebrity in a benevolent mood this season as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, one of the most charitable A-list couple, recently handed over USD 100,000 to the SOS Children`s Villages charity in US.
