New Delhi: Scientists in Britain have now come up with a test for people to calculate their death risk based on a set of 11 questions.

The five-minute online test is said to accurately determine an individual's chances of living the next five years.

Developed by Professor Erik Ingelsson, from Uppsala University, Sweden, and his team, the risk calculator claims to help people aged between 40 to 70 self assess their health. Ingelsson also says that it would help doctors identify those most at risk.

Surprisingly drinking habits and Body Mass Index have not been included in the calculator, although smoking habits have been factored in. Death by accident has obviously been kept out of the calculations.

The website also explains how the Risk Calculator works. The process is done by comparing the individual ‘five-year risk of dying’ (calculated from the questionnaire responses) to UK life tables, and selects the age at which the risk of dying is most similar.
