Mumbai: Sometime back, it was reported that Kareena had opted out of filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ because it starred her first cousin Ranbir Kapoor. However, it seems that some filmmakers are still not giving up on the hope of casting the siblings together, for buzz has it that the war is on between Sajid Nadiadwala and director Rohit Jugraj to see as to who can get Kareena and Ranbir together in a film first.
Talking to a news daily about his take on the same, Sajid said, “We don’t have to think of a romantic pair all the time. There are so many wonderful films where the lead pair is not romantically involved, like Kamal Haasan and Sridevi in ‘Sadma’ and Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in ‘Amar Prem’.”
On the other hand, director Rohit Jugraj is working on a script called ‘Cousins’, which he has designed specially for Kareena and Ranbir, according to reports. Insiders reveal that Rohit’s working on the story of first cousins, who come together to fight for a common cause.
Earlier, Kareena had out-rightly rejected the possibility of romancing Ranbir on screen, and her views had left many, including Imran Khan, really impressed with the actress.
Kareena had then said, “I would like to work with Ranbir. He is so talented. I know we can work magic together. But he is my brother. How can I star opposite him? Maybe it was never meant to be.”
Well, let’s see who wins!
