Mumbai: Music composer Aadesh Shrivastav got the shock of his life when he was diagnosed with cancer recently. But more than the affliction caused by the disease what pains Shrivastav more is the cold shoulder meted out to him by the folks of B-town. At this stage of adversity, Aadesh is extremely hurt by the same industry he had put his heart and soul and complete dedication to.
According to a tabloid, after being diagnosed with cancer, Aadesh was shocked when most of the people he worked closely with didn`t even pay him a visit. Speaking to a daily, Aadesh told, “Falling ill so suddenly was traumatic. But the cold-shoulder treatment I got from the people with whom I’ve closely worked with for years, has caused me even more damage than the disease itself. Nobody came to visit me after I fell sick.” The incident has left Aadesh and his wife Vijayata Pandit sad and upset. The composer had to sell his Hummer to pay for the hospital bills as a last resort. He continued, “I sold it at a throwaway price. I wanted my family to be with me. I’m a very emotional person. If a friend needs me, I will run at 2 am to help. Where were all my friends during the worst time of my life?” However celebs like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shekhar Suman, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and director JP Dutta were among the few who visited him during the illness. Anu Malik, the Bachchans, Shilpa Shetty and Preity also showed their genuine concern. Sharing how it all started, he said, “It was at the GIMA awards that I felt unusually fatigued. I couldn’t see through my right eye. The next day I was told to go for a blood test. That’s when my cancer was discovered.” The music composer could not thank Baba Ramdev enough who helped him deal with the side effects of chemotherapy.
