Mumbai: This was their first outing post break up. And Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya avoided each other like plague. The event was a fashion awards function and both Deepika and Sid were awarded style awards. But instead of obliging the lens-man with photographs, Deepika made a hasty exit soon after receiving the award.
Now, we all know that when the duo was dating, they barely made an entry to any social-do together. Neither did they ever go official about their relationship status. But they always posed for photographs during an event or made an exit together which was obviously captured by photographers.
On Sunday night, things were a bit different. Not only did they stick to their respective seats throughout the show, they also avoided each other and maintained a safe distance.
An eye witness narrated the entire episode to a daily and said, “Sidhartha walked in first, followed by Shah Rukh Khan and approximately seven minutes later, Deepika walked in, looking gorgeous in her beige gown. Earlier, this would have been considered as part of their strategy to avoid being caught in the same frame. But, this evening, they studiously avoided each other, even when the camera was not focused on them. Neither did they exchange pleasantries, like friends.”
Post the event, Sidhartha happily posed for the lenses and Deepika…well she was nowhere to be seen. The actress made a quiet exit, perhaps to avoid any kind awkwardness around her ex!
