Heath Ledger`s death made me re-evaluate life: Gyllenhall

Los Angles: The sudden demise of his friend and actor Heath Ledger led actor Jake Gyllenhall to re-evaluate his life as the star realised he had become too focused on his career. The 29-year-old star was devastated when his `Brokeback Mountain` co-star died from an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.

But the loss made him look at his life and Gyllenhall credits Ledger`s passing with giving him the courage to make changes, GQ magazine reported. "Life, I didn`t totally understand. And I think I was afraid of life. And I had success in my work, enough success that you could keep going back there," Gyllenhall said. "But after (Ledger`s death) happened... I think I recognised that it was work. And I recognised that this is for real," he added. PTI
