Mumbai: On legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi's 35th death anniversary on Friday, melody queen Lata Mangeshkar and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor remembered his body of work.
Along with the tweet, Lata also shared a link of the song "Man re tu kaahe dheere dhare" by the late singer.
Rishi "thanked" Rafi for being his voice in several movies.
The 62-year-old actor shared: "Thank you Rafi sahab for being my playback voice. Still remember you telling me - 'Tu ganda hai meri awaaz ich, bada sona lagda hai'. Jinda reh."
Rafi sang songs like "Dard-e-dil" from the 1980 film "Karz" and "Shirdi wale Saibaba" from the 1977 film "Amar Akbar Anthony" for Rishi.
The singer, who died on July 31, 1980, is also known for famous numbers like "Chaudhvin ka chand ho", "Kya hua tera wada", "Aadmi musaafir hai" and "Maine poocha chand se".
