Provide better care to British youth: Michael Caine

Oscar winning actor Michael Caine said the British government should provide "help and not prison" to the young men who resort to criminal activities.

London: Oscar winning actor Michael Caine said the British government should provide "help and not prison" to the young men who resort to criminal activities. "The young men who opt for a life of crime need help and not prison. They need to be sent to school, not a prison where they will learn to be criminals," a news website quoted Caine as saying.
He said the British government should provide better care to its youth. Caine is working on a film "Harry Brown" which is about a widower who takes revenge on a youth who killed his friend. The actor said: "It (his movie) is a warning, it is a warning. It is not about a vigilante really -- a vigilante is someone who does something. Our character is a victim, a victim of our society that is forced to do something. He is trying to protect himself because nobody else will. And that is the message of this film and the reason I did it." IANS
