The actress who started her career in Bollywood with `Solwa Sawan` in 1978 has over three decades of cinematic experience and has given innumerable hits. She has millions of fans across the country. She shot to fame in the blockbuster hit `Himmatwala` in 1983 in which she starred opposite Jitendra. Sridevi has been a phenomenon ever since she joined the industry. She epitomised the feminine with `Chandni` and `Lamhe`. Her soft voice and cute characters touched the hearts of many. She also had great comic timing, something her contemporaries like Jaya Pradha lacked. Her role in `Mr India` and her double role as Anju – Manju in `Chaalbaaz` are classics. She is versatile and has tried many genres. She has also crossed the boundaries of language. One of her most memorable performances was in `Sadma` in which she plays a amnesiac young woman, who has gone back to her childhood. She made a fabulous comeback with `English Vinglish` which won her critical acclaim as she carried the movie and her character exceptionally well.
