Los Angeles: The Anchorman` director Adam McKay has pulled out of negotiations with Marvel to replace director Edgar Wright as the director of `Ant-Man`.
McKay confirmed that he met the producers behind the movie but said he could not commit due to scheduling conflicts, reportedly.
"And yes, met with Marvel. Kirby & Lee are my Lennon McCartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I`m committed to. Not sure it can work (sic)," McKay tweeted.
Marvel will have to restart its search for a director. `We`re the Millers` helmer Rawson Marshall Thurber and Ruben Fleischer of `Zombieland` fame are said to be in the race now that McKay is out of the picture.
`Ant-Man` star Paul Rudd was among those lobbying for McKay to replace Wright. Wright left the project due to creative differences with Marvel boss.
