Washington: The Supergirl soars to her home at CBS this Fall as the network officially calls for a series order of DC Comics' latest series .
Glen Winter-directed drama pilot 'Supergirl,' starring Glee's Melissa Benoist, will debut during the 2015-2016 TV season, and also comes from Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter, E! Online reported.
The show follows Kryptonian-born Kara Zor-El after she escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin Clark Kent, but now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
Supergirl also stars Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
