Mumbai: A Tanglish song that clocked over twenty million hits on Youtube and made it to the Time magazine, ‘Kolaveri Di’ is undeniably the youth anthem of 2011.
Literally meaning murderous rage, ‘Kolaveri Di’ is a song that deals with broken heart. Recently, the song was used in Mumbai and Auckland’s flash mob where hundreds of youngsters jived to the foot-tapping number. Couple of days back, ‘Kolaveri Di’ was used by a flash mob in Aotea Square, Auckland, where a group of teenagers danced to the sprightly song. On 22nd December, a flash mob took place at Churchgate, Mumbai where actor-singer Dhanush joined the youngsters in a four-minute performance on ‘Kolaveri Di’. As of now, Youtube is bursting with bootleg versions of ‘Kolaveri Di’, which includes Sonu Nigam’s four-year-old son Nevaan crooning a ‘Milk Version’ apart from ‘Sharad Pawar Slap Song’ and a Punjabi and a Gujarati version of ‘Kolaveri Di’.
