Dog whose diet was clothes!

Vets who operated on Bailey found clothes in the pet’s stomach.

London, April 13: Vets who operated on a dog, named Bailey, were in for a surprise, for what they thought was a tumour turned out to be clothes in the pet’s stomach.e vets pulled out two golf gloves, two rugby gloves, one mitten, one stocking and nine socks from the golden retriever’s stomach.
The dog had been taking the garment diet for years and the vet, who pulled out the items, said that it was like performing a magic trick.
Bailey’s owner Nicola Perrett had taken her pet to the vet for his annual check-up, but was later called up to be informed of a suspected tumour. However, later in the day she was told that what was thought to be a tumour was actually an assortment of 17 objects, including a piece of towel. Perrett’s son Jack said that his rugby gloves had been missing for at least two years and the family had not noticed the other things go missing. Bailey, 7, has made a full recovery, and Perrett, 44, is happy that her kids— Jack, 15, and daughter Laura, 18— have there dog back. "We`ve had Bailey for seven years since he was a puppy and we always go for his annual check,” a news daily quoted her as saying. She added: "This year he had lost a bit of weight and the vet must have been able to feel a lump. They phoned me to say they thought he had a tumour and I cried all morning at work." "It is amazing that he was not more unwell or sick but was still eating his food. This huge mass in his abdomen was picked up on a routine check-up for his epilepsy,” vet Keith Moore from the Hillside Veterinary Centre in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, said. "Vets obviously do a fair number of foreign object removals but I doubt I will ever see anything like this again in my career. Even for us, from a vet``s point of view, it was pretty amazing. It was like doing a magic trick. We were just pulling out one sock after another," Moore added. ANI
