Anastacia was depressed post cancer surgery

Los Angeles: Singer Anastacia says she suffered depression following her double mastectomy as she had to take painkillers. The `I`m Outta Love` hitmaker underwent the procedure in 2013 after learning she had been diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. The 45-year-old was first diagnosed with the disease in 2003.

Anastacia now admits she suffered nasty side effects from the medication she was given in the aftermath of the operation. She said: "(I suffered depression) but only because of the painkillers. I didn`t want to take them (the painkillers) - I`m not someone who likes to do drugs of any kind - but I had to and they weigh heavy on you after a while." "It was the kind of pain that can drive you crazy, you know. I hadn`t been prepared for that," she added.
