Shirley MacLaine hates her `Downton Abbey` looks

London: Veteran actress Shirley MacLaine says she hated wearing the extravagant twenties costumes in the forthcoming series of `Downton Abbey`.

The 78-year-old Hollywood star, who arrives as Cora`s American mother Martha Levinson in the period drama, has described herself as a "jogging pants and tennis shoes" type, reported Daily Express. "I hated to put that stuff on. I`m not one for wardrobe," she said. Most of her outfits were sourced from American originals kept in an antique costume house in the San Fernando Valley in California. "Now that`s a once in a lifetime experience, to shoot in such a hallowed place. I enjoyed very, very much that castle and the grounds and the past and the hauntings and the energy. I`m very much into that stuff," she added. PTI
