MJ trial ‘put on hold’ after witness’ family member dies
The trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is accused of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, has been put on hold after one of the prosecution witnesses lost a family member.

Washington: The trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is accused of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, has been put on hold after one of the prosecution witnesses lost a family member.
According to a news agency, Dr. Steven Shafer who began testifying in the case against Dr. Murray last week and was due back in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, has now pulled out of proceedings following the death of a loved one, Contactmusic reported.
Judge Michael Pastor is expected to meet with prosecutors and defence lawyers to discuss when to resume the trial.
An email from the court, obtained by CNN, reads, “Resumption of the trial will be announced when further information is available.”
