I am not pregnant, says Penelope Cruz

Los Angeles: Spanish actress Penelope Cruz has denied reports that she is pregnant with actor, boyfriend Javier Bardem`s baby.The Oscar-winning actress was spotted sporting a slight bump on several occasions recently fuelling reports that she was pregnant with her first child.

But Cruz decided to put a stop to the reports at Toronto International Film Festival, where she walked the red carpet during the premiere of her upcoming film `Broken Embraces`. "I start getting some presents from friends saying, `Congratulations, you`re pregnant.` And I say, `No, I`m not, so return the presents`," the actress told USA Today. Prior to her denial, Cruz was spotted smoking cigarettes while hanging out with fellow actress Salma Hayek at Hollywood`s Chateau Marmont hotel. She plays the character of Lena, a secretary and part-time call girl determined to become a big screen success in Pedro Almodovar`s movie. The film is slated to be released in limited theaters on November 20 later this year. Cruz won the Best Actress Oscar this year for her role of a fiery artiste in Woody Allen`s `Vicky, Christina, Barcelona` opposite Bardem. Bureau Report
