Meet the eternal lover boy of Bollywood - Ranbir Kapoor!

Mumbai: Thanks to his ‘towel dropping’ scene in ‘Saawariya’, Ranbir became the overnight poster boy of Bollywood. With ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, this Kapoor lad soon consolidated his place in B-town and will be soon seen thumping a few hearts in ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.’ Though still new in Bollywood, time and again, one often finds Ranbir Kapoor essaying the role of a spurned lover. For instance, in ‘Saawariya’ and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, Ranbir was spurned by both Sonam and Deepika. Buzz has it that in his upcoming flick ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, Ranbir once again plays the role of a spurned lover who loves Katrina where the latter does not reciprocate his love. While talking to a news daily, Raj Kumar Santoshi – the director of ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ said that his movie has a different take on unrequited love story as, “Ajab Prem... is a film about an unrequited love. I didn’t want Ranbir to play the loser in love as a tragic hero. Chaplin and Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor excelled in playing tragic losers in love. I don’t think the youngsters identify with it.” When enquired whether Ranbir has already been the part of unrequited stories, Raj Kumar Santoshi said, “Yes. But not in this zany and upbeat way. Though Ranbir’s character loses out in love he doesn’t lose heart for even a second. He remains blindly devoted and besotted right till the end while Katrina just keeps taking him for granted.”
