Lil Wayne ‘back at US album chart No.1 spot’

Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ has sold almost a million copies in its first week of release.

Washington: Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ has sold almost a million copies in its first week of release, making him return to the top of the U.S. album chart.
‘Tha Carter IV’ has sold 964000 and marked the biggest week for the hip-hop album and even for any release by a male artist since Wayne hit the top spot with ‘Tha Carter III’ in 2008.
It’s the year’s (2011) second biggest debut behind Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’, which broke through one million sales. Wayne beat Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ and Jay Z’s ‘The Game’s R.E.D’, which were sharing the number one spot for the past three weeks. ANI
