Rupam Pathak convicted of killing MLA Rajkishore

Designated CBI Judge BN Singh pronounced her guilty of stabbing to death Rajkishore Keshri on January 4, 2011.

Patna: School teacher Rupam Pathak was on Saturday convicted by a special court of killing BJP MLA Rajkishore Keshri in Bihar`s Purnia town last year.

Designated CBI Judge BN Singh pronounced her guilty of stabbing to death Keshri on January 4, 2011 and fixed April 10 as the date to decide the quantum of punishment.

Soon after the murder of Keshri, the chief minister had recommended a CBI probe into the killing.

CBI had on April 2, 2011 filed the chargesheet against Pathak under Indian Penal Code`s section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder carrying a maximum punishment of life imprisonment).
