Two children killed as bus overturns near Junagadh

Rajkot: At least two children were killed and
fifteen others injured, five of them seriously, when a school
bus in which they were travelling in overturned near Jungadh
city, police said.

The mishap occurred this morning when the driver of the
school bus, carrying about 48 children to Dhandhusar from
Junagadh, lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp
turn, they said.

Abhay Somani (8) and Jayvardhan Jadeja (8) died on the
spot, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Five children are in a critical condition, they added.

Police has lodged a complaint against the bus driver for
rash driving. The bus driver, who also sustained minor injury,
has surrendered before the police.
