Mumbai, Dec 02: Mahesh Bhatt recently revealed in an interview to a news daily that he had met two young men in September, who had participated in terror operations in the capital. The two were suspected members of ‘Indian Mujahideen’, and were called for a meeting to help them make up their minds first hand. However, the meeting brought about a change in Mahesh Bhatt’s viewpoint instead, as the passionate spoke of revenge against the atrocities meted to minorities.
“I was petrified to see the face of the young Indians. They were individuals inspired by nothing but the creed of revenge,” Bhatt said. “I asked them why they were using the blood of the innocent victims of Gujarat to justify this bloodbath,” Mahesh Bhatt said, adding, “I asked them whether they had a message for young Indians who might be on the verge of taking the same path as them, to this one replied - tell them this road leads nowhere. The only way to set this straight is to fight within the system.” Bhatt, who had come distrusting the policemen, was moved to find one of them saying in helpless resignation, “An avalanche might be on its way.” Bhatt said, “He didn’t know when and how, but I think he saw what was coming. It showed me not all police versions are flawed. I felt some remorse.”
