Una reeled under scorching sun as mercury touched 43.6 degree against 40.1 degree yesterday while Shimla recorded a high of 28.6 degree.

Kangra was warmer with a high of 38.5 degree while Sundernagar recorded maximum temperature at 38.3 degree, followed by Nahan 36.8 degree, Bhunter 35.0 degree, Solan 34.6 degree, Dharamshala 32.6 degree and Kalpa 23. 8 degree C.

The minimum temperature remained steady and Keylong was coldest during the night with a low of 7.4 degree, followed by Kalpa and Manali 8.0 degree, Bhunter 12.0 degree, Sundernagar, Solan and Una 16.2 degree, Dharamsala 18.6 degree, Shimla 18.9 degree, Palampur 21.0 degree and Nahan 25.9 degree C.

Meanwhile, a thunderstorm hit the Chur Chandni and Churdhar ranges in Sirmaur district causing marginal fall in mercury in adjoining higher hills.

The local MeT office has predicted rains or thunderstorm at isolated places in mid and higher hills over next 48 hours and dry weather in rest of the state over next one week.
