1 killed, 8 injured in separate road mishaps in Amethi

Amethi: One person was killed and eight others were injured in separate road mishaps in different parts of Amethi district today, police said.

Dilip Kumar, resident of Nauhadiyan-Pindara, was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Gauriganj turn.

He was rushed to CHC Musafirkhana where doctors declared him dead, they said.

The vehicle disappeared from the scene after the accident, police added.

In another incident, eight persons including six women were injured when a tempo they were travelling in skidded off the Jagdishpur-Faizabad road near Thauri after the driver of the vehicle lost control over it, police said.

All the injured were admitted to CHC Jagdishpur from where two women Ishrat and Ukhsana were referred to trauma centre in Lucknow, they said.
