Congress did nothing but vote bank politics on Ambedkar's name

BJP President Amit Shah on Monday exhorted party workers of its SC Morcha to reach out to the weaker sections and help them reap the benefits of the social welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi-led government.

New Delhi: BJP President Amit Shah on Monday exhorted party workers of its SC Morcha to reach out to the weaker sections and help them reap the benefits of the social welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi-led government.

He also charged the Congress of doing vote-bank politics over BR Ambedkar and not doing "anything" to honour his contribution.

Addressing a workshop of BJP's SC Morcha, he said, "Congress used Ambedkar's name for doing vote bank politics for decades, but never did anything to honour him."

Enumerating the social welfare schemes of the government, he asked BJP workers to reach out to every beneficiary especially those from the SC/ST and help them benefit from such schemes.

He said the Government has run various schemes for the development of skills that will mostly benefit SCs.

Shah also met party workers and public at a 'Jan Samvad' programme at the party headquarters here today in a bid to address their grievances.

A large number of party workers from across the country had converged at the party headquarters to air their grievances to Shah.

As part of his efforts to remain connected with party workers, Shah has been meeting with them every first and third Monday of the month.
