On his part, PM Modi gifted Merkel reproductions of Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman`s manuscripts and papers.
Chancellor Merkel herself holds a doctorate in quantum chemistry.
The PM, was in Germany for the second leg of his three-nation tour.
