Indore: In a controversial statement, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Indore, Usha Thakur, on Tuesday said that an individual becomes terrorist, traitor or Maoist because of his mother’s negligence.
Speaking at an event organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day here, the BJP MLA said: “Mother is responsible for upbringing of her child. If she fails to nurture patriotic values in his heart then she is to blame. If an individual becomes a terrorist, traitor, or Maoist, his mother should be held responsible.”
“Kanhaiya Kumar raised anti-national slogans because his mother failed to teach him about patriotism,” ABP news quoted Thakur as saying.
This is not the first time Thakur has stoked controversy.
Earlier, she said Muslims should sacrifice their sons instead of goats on Eid-ul-Adha.
