New Delhi: The External Affairs Ministry has set up control rooms both in Delhi and Nepal, where at least 40 people were killed and over 850 were injured as massive earthquake shook the Himalayan nation on Tuesday.

The fresh quake caused panic in Nepal which was recovering from the devastating April 25 temblor.

While the ministry set up the control room here, it also re-opened the command room in Nepal which was established in the quake-hit region earlier.

Following are the helpline numbers issued by the MEA:

+91 11 2301 2113

+91 11 2301 4104

+91 11 2301 7905

Meanwhile, MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup also posted some more contact details.

"Our Embassy in Kathmandu and all staff members reported to be safe," Swarup tweeted.

Earlier in the day, a powerful earthquake measuring 7.3 on Richter scale with epicentre in Nepal sent ripples through large parts of east and north India, including Delhi during noon, less than three weeks after the region was struck by a devastating quake.
