PM doesn't need lessons on poverty from 'privileged' Rahul Gandhi: MJ Akbar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows more about poverty than Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, adding that the former does not need instructions on poverty from a `privileged dynasty` member."Narendra Modi ji knows more about poverty than Rahul Gandhi will know in all his life.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows more about poverty than Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, adding that the former does not need instructions on poverty from a `privileged dynasty` member."Narendra Modi ji knows more about poverty than Rahul Gandhi will know in all his life.

Narendra Modi ji doesn`t need instructions on poverty from a privileged dynasty member," BJP spokesperson M J Akbar told ANI. Akbar also blamed the Congress vice-president for criticising Prime Minister Modi for going on foreign trips, instead of visiting villages in the country.

"I don`t think Rahul Gandhi is living in a real world. When Narendra Modi goes abroad, he goes to write a page of history. He goes abroad, works all day and the moment the work is over he is back at his desk in Delhi. When Rahul Gandhi goes, he goes on a 56 day holiday to destinations he has not even told," he said.

The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had earlier alleged that Prime Minister Modi was not concerned about the poor and preferred to go on foreign trips instead of visiting villages in the country. While addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh, Rahul Gandhi spoke of development work in the villages due to policies of the UPA government, and pointed out that PM Modi has not bothered to come there.

"He won`t come here. He goes to the U.S., Australia, but won`t come to the villages of Chhattisgarh. He will come after five years, give a speech and say `acche din` has come. Then you must teach him a lesson, but for now you will have to bear with him," he added.
