Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has sought help from India and the UN to help evacuate Sri Lankans who are caught up in the war in Yemen, a government official said on Monday.
More than 100 Sri Lankans employed in Yemen are being housed at a location close to the Indian mission in the capital Sanaa and they are expected to be moved out across the border to neighbouring Oman in the next few days.
The spokesperson said the Sri Lankan mission in Oman was currently coordinating the evacuation efforts.
