Kasaragod (Ker): In the run up to the Kerala
Assembly polls due in May, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan
on Friday flagged off the ruling LDF government`s state-wide
`Vikasana Munnetta Jatha` march from nearby Manjeswaram, aimed
at highlighting the party`s achievements.
The march was led by CPI leader and Civil Supplies
minister C Divakaran.

Speaking on the occasion, Achuthanandan alleged that
corruption in the Congress-led UPA government exceeded that
seen in Kerala during the previous UDF rule.

Kerala Education minister M A Baby and Dewaswom Minister
Kadannappally Ramachandran will also accompany the march, in
which leaders of various LDF constituents will take part.

The march, after addressing meetings at Chattamchal,
Kanhangad and Thrikarippur in the district, would enter Kannur
district on February 20 and culminate at Thrissur on March 2.
Earlier, Achuthanandan also inaugurated Model College at
Madikkai in the district.
