Bangalore, Dec 09: The opposition BJP in Karnataka
today squarely blamed S M Krishna government for the tragic
end to the Nagappa kidnap episode and demanded resignation of
the Congress ministry.
"It's the failure of the S M Krishna government. After
the release of Raj Kumar two years ago, if the government had
taken minimum risk, Veerappan would have been finished then.
This situation might not have arised", the party's state unit
president, Basavaraj Patil Sedam, told a news agency here.
Sedam said the state government must take up the "whole
responsibility" for the tragedy, "pay the price" and quit "if
some morality is left in it".
He alleged that in the first 80 days of the hostage
drama, the government did not make any sincere efforts to end
the episode. "It did not bother to talk to Tamil Nadu
government for a coordinated action," he said.
Sedam said it's now imperative that all parties come
together and work towards ending the Veerappan menace once and
for all, with central intervention.
