Arjun convenes minority education panel meet on Aug 27

New Delhi, Aug 16: With a view to give an impetus to minority education including modernisation of Madrasas, HRD Minister Arjun Singh on Monday convened the first meeting of the reconstituted National Monitoring Committee for Minority Education on August 27.

New Delhi, Aug 16: With a view to give an impetus to minority education including modernisation of Madrasas, HRD Minister Arjun Singh on Monday convened the first meeting of the reconstituted National Monitoring Committee for Minority Education on August 27.
This was announced by Singh at a press conference here today.

The Minister had announced the Committee on August 7 and said it was being done with a view to raise the level of educational access and quality among the minority communities including modernisation of Madrasas.

The Committee headed by Singh has 35 members in addition to 27 nominated members including Congress leader Salman Khursheed, Delhi Archbishop Vincent Concessao, former civil servant Abid Hussein, evangelist Paul Dinakaran and Maulana Saeedul Rehman Azmi Nadvi of Darul-Uloom madarsa.
