Bilkis case accused threatened investigating official: CBI

New Delhi, Apr 27: The CBI today told a court in Ahmedabad that 14 accused in the Bilkis Yakub gangrape-cum-murder had threatened a senior agency official investigating the case.

While opposing their bail plea, CBI said in its affidavit that the accused, lodged at Sabarmati jail, had threatened chief investigating officer N K Sinha of dire consequences, CBI sources said.

The incident took place when Sinha went to the jail to photograph the accused, a pre-requisite in Gujarat while filing chargesheet, they said.
