Patna, Apr 27: The Patna High Court today granted regular bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav and former Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal (United)
leader Jagannath Mishra in a case in the multi-crore fodder scam.
Justice Narayan Roy confirmed the provisional bail of Yadav and Mishra in a case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of about Rs 45 lakh from Bhagalpur treasury and granted them regular bail.
The high court had in 2002 granted provisional bail to the two former chief ministers and since then their bail was being extended by six months.
The provisional bail of the two leaders was last extended in November, 2003.
The CBI counsel Rakesh Kumar objected to granting permanent bail to Yadav and Mishra but the court did not accept his plea.
